The HUGE sledding hill

"AMARIL!" I hiss as she steals my inner tube and speeds down the hill. I sigh and wait for her to get the other inner tubes.

I shiver and wrap my cloak around me further. The snow started falling again, thicker than ever and was quickly piling up at my boots and freezing my toes.
I stood awkwardly away from the Kayla girl, still a little weirded out by her.

"Amaril bring me an inner tube!" I yell while standing next to Claudia. I looked at her. She looked about as weirded out by Kayla as I was. I was just glad I wasn't with that Kayla girl alone. That'd be weird.

I slide down on the hill on my feet like a snowboard. "WOW! That was fun!" I say to Amaril as I got to the bottom. "Though my boots are completely soaked now," The snow danced through the air, as if it was other worldly. I stared at it in awe.

I look at Dylan. He kinda weirded me out too, though not as much as Kayla. I watched as she slid down the hill on her feet. No human could've pulled that off. It creeped me out.

I giggle at Dylan as he throw's Cactus's Dr. Pepper. "You kinda had it coming," I tell her

I look at Cactus meaningfully and nod.

I grab an arm of snow and pack it into a nice, bullet-hard snowball. Then I throw it at Cactus's head. "That was fun," I smile.

I carefully climb down, watching them. They seem to have so much fun.
It makes me sick.
I stick to the shadows, melting into the night, snow flying around me as I approach.

I burst out laughing as the snowball hit's Cactus in the back of the head and then collapse in the snow. I felt, more free when it was snowing, and now that my secret had been revealed the wasn't anything to hide. Sure, it was a little awkward, but I'll just have to accept that as a part of my life now. I was practically buried in snow in a matter of minutes and kept watching the dazzling snowflakes drop out of the sky. Hundreds, maybe thousands at a time were wowing everyone who saw them. The sky grew dimmer, but it was lit a light maroon-grey color from the reflection of the snow. It felt so....peaceful.

I looked around. My cloak flapped a little in the breeze, and was dusted lightly with snowflakes. I looked at Kayla, who seemed to be having such fun right now. It all seemed a little weird to me still. But something about the stillness and serenity of the snow made the tension in the air lighter.

I changed into a wolf and sat down in the snow, which was now at least half a foot. It cushioned me from the hard ground and made a pleasant crunching sound underneath my paws. In a matter of moments, my fur was clinging to my skin from the moisture of the snow.

Perfect. They didn't see me here, nor did they suspect anything. They were all calm and relaxed. I guess they figured there was no danger here. They were about to be proven wrong. I waited just a few more moments in the shadows to see if they did anything next.

I hit the girl hardly across the head. That should knock her out.

I forced my way through the snow that had piled up on top of me, dusted it off and grabbed an inner tube. "YIPEE!!!" I shouted as I slid wildly down the humongous hill. Snowflakes whipped my face like little glass shards.

I noticed Cactus had disappeared but paid no attention to it. I took a seat down in the snow, which actually wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world. "Hey Xylia," I turn to Xylia and say. "Why did you hate Kayla in the first place?"

"Hold up," I say. "In the first place? I still don't really. But I'm willing to accept that she's Amaril's friend and I'll hold back. Seems like the right thing to do, right?"

I homed in on the girl, folded back my winds and plummeted down in a diagonal nose dive. I had my claws extended menacingly.

I felt something hit me. Hard. Then there was no ground underneath my feet. It all happened so fast, I didn't register in time. Then I looked up, to see I was in the clutches of a harpy, as well as Cactus. I tried to scream but no sound came out. I felt, woozy. Eventually, I gave way into darkness.

I looked around. Wasn't Kayla just down the hill? I could no longer see her. And Cactus, she DID just go over to that tree, right? I looked at Xylia, worried. "I think something bad has happened."

I only hear the faint cries of my friends somewhere distant in the back of my mind. They were far, far away now.

"WHAT just HAPPENED?!" I scream.

"You saw it. They were taken by the harpy." I turn to Xylia and Claudia. "We have to go help them!" I say, determined.

"We don't even know where they went," I point out. "Unless Wolfy here can use her tracking skills," I gesture to Xylia, "Even though it's snowing and the harpy flied." I pause. "Well, this seems hopeless."

"SEEMS." This'd be easier if we could fly. "Hey, do any of you know a dragon you can call or something?" I suggest.

"ZEUS!" I shout.

I grimaced. "Not HIM!" I moan.

"Not him?" I wonder aloud. The music that plays in my head starts up and I bob my head awesomely as rap music starts playing loudly.

I cast a look at Dylan. "Dylan, you concern me sometimes," I sigh, shaking my head as he starts dancing right then and there.

"LIkewise," I say after a moment of deep thought, "You concern ME sometimes."

I pause to think abuot that. "Point made."

I fly in, do an awesome flip, then land with a puff in the snow. "Wasn't that EPIC?" I shout at Amaril and CLaudia.

"....no," I say to Zeus. "But I do give you points for your timing, we're in a bit of a problem."

I moan and groan and roll on the snow. "Noottttt Zeueuuuuuussssssss." I whine.

I clap loudly.

"I'M GONNA KICK YOU IN THE HEAD!" I scream at Xylia angrily.

"And who's this person?" I say gesturing to the guy who was going to kick Xylia in the head for some reason.

"Just skip it," I say to Zeus. "We need you to fly us somewhere. We're looking for a harpy.

"I'M GONNA FRICKIN' EAT YOUR SOUL!" I retort back to Dylan, growling.

"MY NAME IS DYLAN THE DYLAN DYLAN." I announce royally. Then I turn to Xylia and collapse into the snow screaming. SCREAMING!!!

"Disregarding Dylan..." I say slowly, then walk between Xylia and Dylan. "BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE HECK UP OR ELSE I'LL BITE YOUR HEADS OFF!!!!" I scream at the top of my lungs. "Not. Even. Kidding."
