The Tropical Island

"BWAAA!" I scream as some THING lands. It's really bizarre looking, I don't wnat to say it's a dragon.

I stare at the dragon-thing. It was about 2 feet taller than me, but it might be able to fly us out of here. However, I had no interest in talking to it. "Ask it to fly us away from here," I say to Amaril, still staring at the....misshapen dragon-thing.

I sigh. "If you're done gawking like two buffoons then allow me to introduce myself. I am Zeus, the golden dragon and chick magnet," I say, smiling and raising my eyebrows.

I raise an eyebrow. "Riiiiiiiiiight. Sorry, but I think Popcorn already has a thing for Sandy, if that's who you're after."

I snorted in disgust. "Just ask him to give us a ride," I whisper to Amaril.

"Who?" I asked, my interest sparked. Then I pushed it aside. I began to try to impress them. "You know, you with the black hair. You remind me of an Irontalon I defeated trying to save some orphan pixies." I smiled, the scar stretching a little.

"We've defeated an irontalon," I say wistfully.

"Yeah," I interjected. But it sounded stupider than I had intended. I pulled my hood further over my face.

I huffed. "All I wanted to do was welcome you to my island, maybe you could settle in for a while, we could hang out, walk on the beach. You could meet the rest of my friends," I grinned again.

"Your island? You live here? On this tiny place?" Then I pause. "Friends? Other people live on this place?"

I looked around. It was a small island. The dragon smiled again, it seemed to be his favorite thing to do.

I glanced at my claws, pretending not to care. "Yup," I replied. "Pixies. They kind of have a thing for me," I bragged while flicking my claws. They glinted in the sun, I just had a manicure.

"Will you just fly us out of here?" I burst out.

I looked at her in surprise, but quickly masked it. "Why would you want to leave?" I asked, pretending to be hurt.

"Nothing against you, uh... Thor," I say, forgetting his name. "But we're kind of in the middle of something."

I nodded. "That's right,"

"The middle of what?" I say, adding a hwha sound at the beggining of the word 'what'. It made it sound cool, I made a mental note to do that more often.

"Just... something to do with Celina," I say, not wanting to give away details. "And a whole mob of others. And girls," I say, hoping that will help.

"Yes," I chimed in. "Like Popcorn, and Xylia, and..." I tried to think of other mobbing people that followed us around.

Of course, I saw through their ploy but I wanted to go along with them anyway, and meet these girls. "Deal," I said. I crouched down, and smiled motioning for them to get on. "Don't worry, the spines don't look as painful as they are," I said, trying to sound cool.

"Wow, you're really short," I noticed. "Like, REALLY short. You should see someone about that. I mean, even popcorn is like 20 fett," and I realize that I'm rambling.

I stare at Amaril, acting as if SHE insulted me. I don't even think I was 5 feet.

"You know, life's not about being tall. I'm a good deal taller than YOU." I pointed out logically. Then I soared off.

I smiled at Amaril. Nothing could be further from the truth. But then my hood was wrenched off as we flew straight up.

We fly off like rainbow glitter getting mauled by toothpaste covered racoons.
