Top of the mountain

We finally arrived and I dismounted, collapsing in a hopeless heap on the grass. "Ugh." I brushed myself off as I stood up. "So, this is the home of the rumored Irontalon- the creature bigger than mountains." I said dramatically. "It can't be that big."

I dismounted as well, more graceful than Amaril. "I don't know, You can't ever underestimate things." I emphasized the word 'underestimate' as if Sandy could hear me.

I pulled out Dawnshadow, which was gathering dust in its sheath. "Well. What now?"

I looked at her expectantly.
"You don't have a plan? This was your idea." I knocked a new arrow onto my bow.

"Okay, okay okay okay. So, we could have someone be bait, and be like, hanging from a wire all like 'eat me!' and then when he gets all close like 'yum' the other person who's all hidden like a ninja will pull the wire up like 'haha sucker' and he'll be like 'grr' and we'll run."

"Like a ninja, you say?" I smiled at Amaril. "But none the less, that's not a very good plan..."

"Well, do you have a better plan?" I snapped. "This is gonna be great."

I sat down and put down the arrow. I used it to draw a map in the dirt.
"First things first, If this is the mountain, then we should scout around it to find the irontalon. "

"Okay. Or I could just do this." I clapped my hands three times. "SANDY!" I screamed.

I had been pointlessly circling the skies when I heard Amaril's scream. I sure hope she doesn't have that annoying human with her. I flew over towards the mountains, sighing inwardly before landing next to her. "WHAT?!" I snapped.

"Go find the Irontalon." I grinned. He looked at me for a while.

I glared, fire in my eyes as his gaze flitted onto me.
"Why don't you listen to your master?" I said, feeling cocky.

"Master?!" I spluttered. I unfurled my wings and flailed around. "If Amaril's my master then I must be... a... PUMPKIN!"

"If I were his master maybe he would listen to me, though." I mused.

"UGH!" Still grumbling I flew off to find the Irontalon. He was only several yards away, sleeping peacefully next to the nearest mountain peak. I flew back to Amaril and simply pointed in that direction.

I looked at Claudia. "Well. Would you like the honor or being bait?" Then I thought about it. As if I had any muscles to pull her back up.

I stared at Amaril.
"I think you should be the 'bait'" I say. Then I glare at Sandy.
"Actually, don't you think a big, strong dragon like Sandy would be better?" I said as sarcastically as I possibly could.

I took one long look at her and flew away.

"Well, that answers that question. Got any wire?"

"Only what's on my bowstring," I said twanging the tightly stretched elastic.

"Okay. Let's do this." I grabbed the bow and turned it upside down. "Wait, wait, wait. How do you do this?"

"No, no no!" I said, snatching my bow. "This is my only bow, and it is the finest!" I freaked out and pulled my hood over more as i began to feel flustered.

I wiped a tear from my eye. "I know what I have to do." I took my earbuds from my pocket. "Good thing i have spares! It's all worth it. We'll go down in history! Well, I will. I'll give you -18 of the credit." I tied teh earbuds around my waist. "i'm so ready for this."

"-18 percent of the credit? Hmm, that may be hard to refuse," I said sarcastically.
"Even though I'll be taking it down with my bow." I nodded to the trees.
"But how will those flimsy earbuds support you?"

"Ohhoho, Claudia. Didn't you just give Sandy a talk about not underestimating things? These earbuds have survived anything from holding me up on the edge of a cliff to... um... playing my music at full blast."

I nodded skeptically.
"Fine, whatever." I shake her off, signalling for her to get started.

I scaled a tree quickly and could see the gigantic Irontalon below me. I winked at Claudia, and, hoping she was holding on to the earbuds, lowered myself down.

I tried to hold to the earbuds supporting Amaril's crushing wait, and the arrow knocked on my bow at the same time.

I cleared my throat loudly and started making dramatic arm motions while dangling in the air. "HEY! HO! I TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!" I screamed.
